Vinted Refund Policy For Paperbacks

Note
If you purchased from a Pro seller, our Pro Refund Policy applies instead.

Our Buyer Protection is added to every purchase made using the “Buy now” button (for a fee). Buyer Protection includes our Refund Policy, which allows you to get a refund if:

  1. Your parcel never arrives
  2. Your parcel was damaged in transit
  3. Your item is significantly not as described (SNAD)

The Refund Policy unfortunately doesn’t cover items that don’t fit you or don’t suit you. You can still talk to your seller about a return, but it’s their decision whether to accept the return or not.

Refunds for returns

Refunds for returns are made up of:

  • The price of any returned items
  • The Buyer Protection fee for any returned items
  • The initial shipping fee you paid to get the order
  • Any fees you paid for optional services like Item Verification or Electronics Verification

The refunded Buyer Protection fee is calculated based on the items that you keep, and we’ll refund you the difference.

Also, any offers, discounts, and vouchers used during purchase are subtracted from your refund. The amount subtracted is proportional to the price of any refunded items.

Partial refunds

Sellers may offer a partial refund for an item you’ve reported as SNAD. This means you can get part of the item price back and keep the item instead of returning it.

You should discuss with the seller how much you’d like to be refunded. When the seller offers a partial refund, the exact amount is shown in the conversation screen with buttons to either accept or decline the offer.

If you accept the seller’s offer for a partial refund, you’ll receive:

  • A partial refund for the item
  • A partial refund of the Buyer Protection fee (relative to the partial refund).

Partial refunds don’t include the shipping fee or any optional services you paid for.

Note that partial refunds as described here aren’t available if you purchased a bundle of items. However, it’s possible to get a refund for only the items that you report from a bundle and return to the seller instead.

eBook (Digital Products) Returns

E-books you buy from this shop at Keyla Damaer are downloaded to your device and you own it, unlike e-books from major online retailers where you only rent the e-book on the retailer’s device (the e-book never belongs to you). Therefore, the e-books you buy from this shop at Keyla Damaer are by their very nature non-returnable, and cannot be refunded. Please choose carefully and sample before purchasing. There are excerpts available at Keyla Damaer.

If you have a problem getting the e-book onto your device, or the print book is damaged, please Contact Us.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT BUYING DIRECT

Why should I buy direct?

Buying direct is purchasing books directly from me, rather than through a retailer. Here, I offer all my books, plus additional things not available anywhere else. Buyers can use PayPal.

Buying direct cuts out the middlemen between you and me. That means a couple very important things.

1. A much higher percentage of what you pay goes to me. That’s because retailers take a substantial cut. With buying direct, there are still fees charged to the author from service providers, powering this site (PayHip), processing your payment (PayPal), and delivering the books. But their combined fees are a smaller percentage. This gives me room to offer exclusive discounts to my best readers.

2. When you buy from a retailer, they keep that info (sometimes even sell it.) The author never knows who bought their book, can’t say thank you, can’t say, ‘Hey, there’s a deal on this other book you might enjoy’. The middlemen sit there, blocking communication between you and me.

I will treat your information the way I want mine treated. I will never sell or trade or otherwise abuse your information. I will use it to tell you about books and book-related items. Period.

How do I buy direct?

The same way you buy from retailers. Just as with a retailer, the first time’s unfamiliar, then it gets easy.

What about security?

Your payment info goes only through PayPal. It is not shared beyond them.

PayPal then sends on what you’ve ordered, so we know what to send you and where—by email for e-books and audiobooks or shipping address for physical products.

What about delivery?

For now, print books and other physical items are available in France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States. This might evolve as more opportunities develop. As for delivery times, we’ve all heard the phrase ‘supply chain issues’.

What about copyright?

All my material is copyrighted and registered with the Copyright Office. Don’t steal it. If you can’t afford books, go to your local library. If they don’t have them, request them. I fully support libraries, making sure all my books are available to them – e-books and print.

If you download my books from sites that are not mine, not a major retailer, not a library, then you are doing business with pirates. You are supporting these illegal enterprises—perhaps knowingly with your purchase money (none of which goes to the author), certainly with your data. And these illegal enterprises frequently support other criminal enterprises. Oh, yeah, and sometimes they’re just fronts for phishing attacks, and you get your identity stolen.

But how does buying direct really works? Teleportation?

Sort of.

With e-books and audiobooks

First, the e-books at shop/keyladamaer.com are compatible with all the e-Reading devices out there, including phones, tablets, specialized e-Readers. No need to be tied to a specific device, the way some retailers insist. This means you can read my books where you want to.

So what happens when you purchase one of my books?

You get a thank-you note and will be able to download direct from PayHip.
